Oxidizing Agent (Electron Acceptor): A substance that gains electrons during a chemical reaction, causing another substance to be oxidized. The oxidizing agent is reduced as it accepts electrons. In a redox reaction, the oxidizing agent plays a key role in facilitating the oxidation process.

Example: Oxygen acts as an oxidizing agent when it accepts electrons from iron to form rust.
